Yesterday was one of the hardest days I’ve had in the last year. It just was. And here are some photos and a short list of glimmers that carried me through, so I could do what needed done and put my head on my pillow last night, knowing the day was behind me, and that I would wake up today to a different day.
Eating a delicious omelette at Tupelo Honey with a dear friend to celebrate his one year sober birthday.
Finding a sweet and unexpected card on my desk from an employee.
Receiving a good news text from Charlie.
Hearing the song out in the wild— “Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing” by Stevie Wonder.
Sipping a superb glass of ice water.
Spotting a magnolia in full bloom.
Having an acquaintance stop by my office, ask how I was doing, see my face when I looked up, and say, “I hear what you don’t have to say. Keep going. You’re going to be okay.”
